The Company manufactures Caustic Soda by using Membrane Cell Technology. The membrane cell operation utilizes Nickel as the Cathode and activated Titanium as Anode separated by high performance membrane for the electrolytic reaction. When electric current is applied to the electrolyzer, electrolyte (brine solution) gets converted into sodium & chlorine ions. Sodium ions gets transferred towards cathode compartment through membrances and gets converted into NAOH product after reacting with OH ions, theirby releasing hydrogen gas also. Chlorine ions in anodic compartment comes out with depleted brine solution where it is separated and sent to chlorine treatment sections for further treatment .

| 2. LIQUID CHLORINE
The Chlorine gas generated in the primary cell is about 80 C, which is passed through the cooler to make its temperature reduced to 16-17 C and passed through Absorption Drying Tower to make it Dry. Drying Media is Sulphuric Acid and is then compressed in Chlorine compressors and passed through Chlorine liquefier to convert Chlorine to liquid form. Chlorine has diversified uses in the synthesis of inorganic and organic chemicals, in many of which it does not appear in the end product but enters into the intermediate steps. It is mainly used in solvents, automotive antifreeze and antiknock compounds, pesticides, plastic, resins, and elastomers, refrigeration fluids propellants, inorganic compounds and metallurgical uses, organic intermediate, pulp and paper, water supply and sewage treatment, etc. | ||||||||

Precautions: Storage- Store 100Kgs cylinder and ton containers in cool, dry, well ventilated & relatively isolated area, protected from direct sun light and extreme temperature changes. Store cylinder upright and secure them so that they do not fall down. Keep enough space between two containers so that all are accessible in case of emergency. Transportation Do not allow over loading of the containers. Don't carry any other good/luggage/fire hazardous substances in the trucks. Carry a gas mask within the vehicles. Carry the literature of chlorine handling in the vehicle. Never park the vehicle under direct sun light. Cover the containers with tarpaulin etc. For more information on manufacturing process of Liquid Chlorine |

| 3. HYDROCHLORIC ACID About 75% of Chlorine Gas is sent to the refrigeration section to convert Chlorine Gas to liquid form and rest 25% to Chlorine and sniff Chlorine Gas is burnt in presence of Hydrogen Gas in Hydrochloric Synthesis unit. As a result Hydrochloric Acid Gas is produced which is absorbed with water to make 33% Hydrochloric Acid. The largest users of hydrochloric acid are the petroleum, chemical, food, and metal industries. |
